The GP7 series was built between October of 1949 and May of 1954, weighs 246,000 lbs and uses a 567B 16 cylinder diesel prime mover that develops 1500 hp, and 65,000 lb of tractive effort, and carries 800 gallons of fuel. My thanks to The Diesel Shop for the information.
The Bangor & Aroostook (BAR), Boston & Maine (BM), Maine Central (MEC), and Guilford/PanAm's Springfield Terminal (ST) all had some of these locomotives.
